Zakopane and Tatra Mountain tour from Krakow

Zakopane, often referred to as the ‘winter capital of Poland’, is the city located in the valley and surrounded by the High Tatras is the most popular and liked by tourist ski center in Poland. In winter, Zakopane turns into a vibrant capital of skiing and snowboarding, and an ideal starting point for hiking trails in summer.

Most tourists visit Zakopane due to the picturesque location between the Gubalowka and Tatra Mountains ranges and tourist attractions that we find here. Beautiful views of the surrounding peaks extend from virtually anywhere in Zakopane. Particularly impressive is the Giewont towering over the city. Another aspect that makes this place attractive is highlander culture reflected in buildings, customs and traditions, as well as organized events and attractions. Numerous examples can be found in the museums located in Zakopane (the largest of which is the Tatra Museum), folklore and crafts, or churches and villas built in accordance with the principles of the Zakopane style. An important tourist attraction is undoubtedly the Sanctuary in Krzeptowki, built to commemorate the assassination of the Pope John Paul II. The interior of the sanctuary is most impressive because most of the elements were made of wood by local craftsmen from Zakopane. When in Zakopane, it is impossible to give up walking around Krupowki - this is the most representative street and a promenade at the same time. You’ll find numerous restaurants and gift shops there, and you’ll be able to stop for a while to admire street shows. From Krupowki it is easy to get to Gubalowka - one of the most important attractions of Zakopane. You can admire some amazing views of the entire panorama of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane from its peak. At the top, there is a gravity slide, stalls along the and rope parks. In winter, there is also a ski park, scooters attractions, bobsleigh tracks and snowshoe expeditions. Zakopane is also famous for its Great Krokiew - a ski jumping hill complex associated with ski jumping contest held there annually. The Great Krokiew is also a great observation point since seen from there the panorama of Zakopane makes an amazing impression.
