Malbork tour

Malbork tour from Warsaw

Since 1309, Malbork was the seat of the great masters of the Teutonic Order and the capital of one of the most powerful countries in medieval Europe. In 1997, the Malbork Castle was inscribed on the prestigious list of the World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

In the Gothic scenery of the former Teutonic fortress you can see collections of amber, military objects, architectural details or sculptures. They are accompanied by numerous scientific, cultural and musical events. The Teutonic Castle is the most important monument of the city, a masterpiece of defensive and residential architecture of the Middle Ages. The monumental Gothic building on the waters of the Nogat River still surprises and amazes with the severity of shapes, the mystery of passages, the depth of the moats and the span of thick defensive walls. The Teutonic castle in Malbork is considered the world's largest gothic castle complex built by human hands. From the end of the 13th century, the Church of St. John the Baptist in the Old Town started its operations. Its most valuable monuments include the movable, medieval sculpture of St. Elzbieta Turynska. What deserves attention is the historic Gothic St. Mary's Gate built in 1320-1330, located in the southern part of the city walls. In 1945, it was completely burned to the ground and rebuilt in 1964.

One of the attractions in Malbork is a boat cruise on the Nogat. In addition to the remarkable views, it gives you the opportunity to fully admire the vastness of the Malbork fortress and the magnificent panorama of the Castle stretching from the side of the Nogat River. The cruise is a great opportunity to take beautiful pictures and keep them as a souvenir.
